Curriculum for adult and non-formal education in the colleges of education in Nigeria: An appraisal

Abstract
This paper critically examined the NCCE 2012 minimum standards for
adult and non-formal education in the colleges of education in Nigeria. Also,
its strength and weaknesses were exposed. The meaning and types of curriculum
were explained. The importance of curriculum was also highlighted. Factors that
affect curriculum development were adequately discussed. Based on the findings,
conclusion was made and it was recommended among others, that the minimum
qualification for academic staff in the colleges of education should be masters
in adult education.
